Gio is originally from Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in Western Massachusetts.
Gio began his acting career in March 2007 in the city of Boston. To gain experience and to hone his craft he took on student films at local colleges. He was cast in a number of low budget independent films, industrial videos and TV commercials throughout New England. Gio also performed in several plays in community theater. In 2013 Gio took to the stage as legendary Hollywood icon, Desi Arnaz in a biographical play titled ‘LUCY’. A total of ten shows were performed at the Bell Street Chapel in Providence, Rhode Island. Daydream Theatre took the show to New York City the following year where Gio received a Planet Connections Theatre Festivity award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play. In January of 2016 Gio played the role of Gerald Croft in J.B. Priestley’s ‘AN INSPECTOR CALLS’ at the Majestic Theater in West Springfield, Massachusetts. In September of 2017 Gio starred as Stanley Kowalski in the classic Tennessee Williams play, ‘A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE’ at the Exit 7 Theater in Ludlow, Massachusetts.
In March of 2018, Gio worked with Derek Luke and Raúl Esparza on a NBC television pilot titled, 'SUSPICION' filmed in Boston. His role on the pilot earned Gio his Screen Actors Guild card on his 11th year anniversary as an actor. Later that year he worked opposite Carrie-Anne Moss on a Season 3 episode of ‘MARVEL’S JESSICA JONES’. Gio also worked opposite Freddy Rodriguez on the season 4 premiere of the popular CBS television show, ‘BULL’. Since then, he has appeared on many other popular TV shows such as ‘PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN’, ‘PARTNER TRACK’ & ‘LAW & ORDER: SVU’.
